First 5 Things You Should Do After Booking Your Wedding Venue
If you realize the first thing you need to do once you’re engaged is book your venue, you’re already a step ahead! Traditionally, weddings took place in churches, on family’s land, or in another location that was relatively easy to book. Now, there are so many different types of beautiful venues for brides and grooms to choose from, but even with so many options, they book up fast! So, go ahead and book your venue, then you can start moving along with the rest of the wedding planning process. Continue reading to learn about 5 things you should do after booking your venue.

1. Set A Date
Upon booking your venue, the first thing you have to think about is the date. Choosing a date at the same time to choose your venue is a requirement, and deciding to change the date later on may not be an option. When choosing a date consider the weather during the time of year you’re looking to get married. Check to make sure your event won’t clash with other important celebrations or holidays to be sure everyone can make it. Have a few backup dates in mind just in case the venue of your dreams is already booked on your ideal wedding date.

2. Get Inspired
Now that you’ve found your venue, it’s time to start planning all the remaining details. Get inspired from other wedding websites, real weddings, and Pinterest. If you’re open to it, you can even get opinions from your friends and family. At The Butterfly Pavilion, we provide some decorations to get you started on the little things and hopefully make this part easier. Choose your style and get a general idea of the colors, foliage, and other decor you want to incorporate into your wedding day.
3. Create Your Guest List
The next thing you should do is start creating your guest list. There may be more or less people coming than you think, and everything you plan for should be planned around the number of guests who will be in attendance. Start with your family, your wedding party, and your closest friends, then work from there. It’s also smart to create this guest list online and link it to your wedding website for easy access to RSVPs later on down the road.

Booking your wedding planner early on is your best bet at having a smooth wedding planning process. Wedding planners will be your go-to person that will help guide you through booking vendors, preparing the details, and they’ll even handle all the coordination leading up to your wedding day to make sure everyone is on the same page. If you want a stress-free wedding planning process, hire a wedding planner now.

5. Start Booking Vendors
It’s finally time to start booking vendors! Vendors get booked as quickly as venues, so it’s important to get the ball rolling on this right away. The sooner you have your vendors booked, the less stressed you’ll be closer to the wedding day. Let your planners know your priorities, like if you have any preferred vendors of your own, so he/she can contact them first. You’ll also want to go ahead and book your highest-cost vendors to get the big ticket items out of the way so you can see what’s left in your budget for other things.
Enjoy Your Big Day
