John Craig, the great grandfather of the owners of The Butterfly Pavilion, was born in 1877 around Bartow County, Georgia. Throughout life, Pa Craig, as he was known, collected around 1,000 acres of land spanning from Bartow County through Cobb, Cherokee, and Acworth Counties in Georgia. The Butterfly Pavilion sits on a portion of that same land, some 100 years later.
The second generation of Craigs to live on the land were Buck and Leone Craig, the grandparents of the owners of The Butterfly Pavilion. Together, they kept the farm and raised their daughter, Carol, the mother of the owners of The Butterfly Pavilion.
The owners of the venue spent their summers on this land, helping with the farm and growing to love nature and the outdoors. When their grandparents passed away in the mid-2000s, the farm became empty. The great grandchildren of Pa Craig began the process building The Butterfly Pavilion in early 2017. The Butterfly Pavilion, from concept to development, is now ready to help your dreams come true on 105 beautiful wooded acres of secluded land owned by five generations of Georgians. We’re proud to offer a private, organic venue for your most treasured celebrations. We believe Pa Craig would be proud!
